Senegal applies the ECOWAS common external tariff. Duties and taxes are calculated on the CIF value of the goods, after the goods are classified under the right HS code. A wrong code or an incomplete invoice is the most common reason for delays and extra costs at the port.

We check your documents and HS codes before the cargo arrives. The declaration is lodged by a licensed customs broker we work with every day, and we follow the file through inspection until release. You receive the duty assessment and official receipts with our invoice.

FAQ

Questions

Which documents do you need to clear my goods?
At least the commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading or air waybill. Depending on the goods: certificate of origin, pre-import declaration, and approvals for regulated products such as food, medicines or chemicals.
How are import duties calculated in Senegal?
On the CIF value: customs duty by tariff category, plus statistical fee, community levies and 18% VAT. Use our duty calculator for an estimate, then send us the invoice for an exact figure.
Can you handle duty exemptions?
Yes. We prepare exemption and duty-free files for public projects, NGOs and diplomatic missions, working with the ministries that must approve them before the goods arrive.
What happens if customs orders a physical inspection?
The licensed broker handling your file attends the inspection at the terminal. We follow it with them and update you the same day with the outcome.
